From January to July 2025, cumulative exports reached 3.68 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%. Of this total, 575,000 units were exported in July alone, a year-on-year increase of 22.6%. New energy vehicle exports were the core driver, reaching 1.308 million units from January to July, a year-on-year increase of 84.6%. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) saw significant growth, increasing by 2.1 times year-on-year; pure electric vehicle exports reached 833,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 50.2%. Conventional fuel vehicle exports fell by 7% year-on-year to 2.373 million units.
BYD emerged as a strong competitor: from January to July, cumulative exports reached 553,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.3 times, surpassing Chery to become the top single-brand exporter. Chery maintained its leading position: from January to July, cumulative exports reached 667,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%. However, due to the impact of the Russian market, the brand’s overseas sales declined by 8.2%.
