As vehicles become increasingly intelligent, smart power distribution becomes increasingly important. eFuse, a more proactive and intelligent electronic fuse, has been widely adopted in new-generation vehicles. Essentially an integrated circuit, an eFuse limits circuit current and voltage to safe levels during fault conditions. It embeds various functions to protect the system from inrush current, overcurrent, overvoltage, reverse current, reverse polarity, and short-circuit faults. Compared to traditional fuses, eFuse offers advantages in that it requires no replacement, reducing maintenance costs and time; it offers greater precision and accuracy; and its integrated functionality saves space.
NIO has launched its proprietary eFuse network in China for the first time, an innovative electronic fuse technology. eFuse controls circuits based on power information such as voltage and current, rather than the traditional “overload fuse” method. This provides greater flexibility and safety, enabling more precise coordination of the activation and deactivation of various functions within the electrical and electronic architecture. Thanks to this proprietary eFuse network, NIO’s SkyOS operating system can precisely control 129 energy consumption scenarios.
Keboda’s smart fuse box (efuse) is an integrated circuit that integrates MOSFETs, drivers, detection circuits, logic circuits, diagnostics, and other modules to provide a semiconductor solution for circuit protection. Keboda has secured contracts for related vehicle models from OEMs such as Geely, Li Auto, and Volkswagen.
