Toyota Motor and Chinese battery manufacturer BYD have reached a partnership agreement to jointly develop new energy vehicles. Under the agreement, Toyota will provide vehicle manufacturing technology and brand influence, while BYD will supply battery technology and electric powertrains. This collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both companies and accelerate the development of new energy vehicles.
Toyota Motor announced plans to launch all-solid-state batteries between 2027 and 2028, marking a major advancement in electric vehicle technology. Toyota and its partner, Sumitomo Metal Mining, have jointly developed a highly durable cathode material that will facilitate the large-scale production of all-solid-state batteries.
